About the book selection process
From the onset, the members of the Whatcom READS! steering committee agreed on specific criteria for selecting an author and book:
- Author available to visit Whatcom County
- Author must be an interesting and engaging speaker
- Book must have a good, general appeal to a wide range of readers
- Book must have cultural, historical, or local appeal
Titles for the following year will be selected each spring. Members of the steering committee will discuss possibilities and welcome your suggestions.
